Though Istanbul area has a lot to see, I will talk here about the Bosphorus area mainly, as it is where I've been.
Departing from Eminonu in Istanbul there are many local ferries going up and down the Bosphorus, that make these destinations a perfect daytrip.
You can also have some beaches at the Princess Islands (south of Istanbul, in the asian side) or even better at the Black Sea shores... |
|  | The ferries The ferry itself makes a nice trip by the Bosphorus waters. Both shores are so close that you can spend the 2 hours that the boat takes to the Black Sea watching at the wonderful houses and little town on both european and asian sides... |
Anadolu Kavagi My favourite destination in the Bosphorus is the little asian village of Anadolu Kavagi. In this fishermen village you can have a nice lunch in a terrace by the sea, watching the ferries pass by. | | |
