Those domes

St. Basil Domes
Since the very first moment I saw pics of these fantastic fairy tales domes I wanted to visit Moscow and see it live.
They have always been in my dreams, were the scenery of the 1001 nights tales, a gate of orient and a land of fantasy...
Military vans in the red square

Hard times, times of change...

We arrived in Moscow by train from Beijing. The same day we left China we received news of the changes in Moscow, where Gorbachov had left the power to Yeltsin. We didnt know what would we find a week after when we'd be arriving in Moscow.
There was not much left of the barricades, but some military vehicles were still on the streets, and the ambiance was weird...

Red flag in the red square

You still could see the red flag in the Kremlin those days. Just the week after they changed it for the red-white-blue one and the red flag was taken to the museums.

Interesting to know you've been to Moscow during this August-91 days. A lot of metro stations and streets changed their names since then but your tips are still actual and interesting :)
