This is a page about Vathy, the capital town of the Ithaka island. Ithaka is a small island in the Ionian Sea, west of the Peloponesse. Vathy is a good basecamp to explore the island, as well as the main transport hub. |
| | The first view Vathy is one of the places you will arrive to if you come to the island by ferry. The other one is "Pissaetos", a small pier in the west of the island. The town is at the bottom of a small bay, so its waters are calm and the whole atmosphere of the place is of a great tranquility and peace... |
... and the last Vathy is not a place to come for lively nightlife and discos. There are some, but the place at night is starry and quiet, and by day, even in summer, is not much more than a peaceful fishing village.
This sunrise will be the last view you have from the island if you leave in the 7am ferry... | | |
