The Gibraltar of Greece

The resemblance between Monemvassia and Gibraltar is astonishing.
The greek one is a bit smaller, less crowded, less british, and less strategical... and less noisy.

A quiet little village...

In this quiet little village, there's no cars, no noises, calm is perfect, even with crowds of tourists all around, because it has many narrow alleys where you can get lost in space and time...

Now seriously, this is just 8:50 am, not too early.
If you sleep inside Monemvassia, you can enjoy some moments of magical PEACE, before the tourist invasion...

A lovely place and I know what you mean about wanting to take too many photos!! Like you, we saw it at a quiet time and more or less had the place to ourselves.

V. beautifull photos of one of my favorite places. Only that it takes two, to perceive its romantic spirit. U r right :"what a waste" ;-) And now, after getting what I wanted, I go to sleep. P. :-) P.S: The name of the restaurant is "Kanoni".
