One thing I envy of Barcelona (comparing it with Madrid) is that it is a really beautiful and personal city. Everywhere you look at you find nice buildings around. Madrid has amazing highlights and monuments but somehow I find the city a bit more unpersonal. Besides, BCN has the sea, and that's something Madrid will never have!! The city has changed a lot after the 1992 Olympic Games, and it is said it's gonna get even better after the 2004's Forum event... |
| | 1 day stay, too short, I know I must admit (with a certain shame) that I have only been 1 day and a half in BCN... So don't expect to find here the ultimate guide of the city, just a personal view of it, what I saw, what I liked (U won't see here what I disliked, LOL) |
Here you are! Seems to be in the middle of the world, doesn't it? I found this funny sign in the airport. It was the typical "You are here" map, but depicting all the world, I found it interesting :-) Oh, BTE, Barcelona is located in Catalunya region, northeast of Spain, by the Mediterranean sea... | | |

I'm really looking forward to my first visit there later this year. Great tips! | ronaldpk Fri Nov 17, 2006 22:03 UTC You've missed to mention the 13 geese of Santa Eulallia. For me, they were the cutest surprise in the Gothic Quarter! | knips Tue Oct 10, 2006 17:25 UTC Seems to be the square of the final scene of "The Perfume", where Jean-Baptiste Grenouille perfumes himself so irresistible that he's been eaten up by the people at the place. |
