Navacerrada - Madrid

Navacerrada

La Sierra (mountains) Skiing Review

If you come to Madrid from December to February, you can make a daytrip to the mountains around Madrid, in the north of the province.
In Navacerrada% or Cotos% there are skiing stations, and you can go there just for hiking or having a walk in the woods. Is a nice mountanious area that can be reached by train from Atocha or Chamartin stations. Take the "cercanias" line 8b, towards the north and go down till Cercedilla (a nice village, but no snow there always) and change to line 9 till "Pto.Navacerrada", or "Cotos" (final stop).
BUT don't go on weekends, as is full of madrilians!!

Rowing with kids - Madrid

Rowing with kids

Rowing in Retiro Sailing Review

If you feel like rowing in a little boat, you can come to the Retiro Park and enjoy a nice time here.
Go to the main pond (the one with the big horse statue), and head towards the yellow building with columns at the left. There you have a ticket box. It costs 3,80 euros for 45 minutes. Only 4 persons allowed per boat.

It's a perfect plan if you go with kids.

Fishing by the lake - Madrid

Fishing by the lake

Fishing at Juan Carlos I Park Fishing Review

If you are really fond of fishing and don't wanna go out the city, try at the lakes of the Juan Carlos I Park. The water is not crystal clear, but there are some fishes around, visitors feed them with bread, so they are BIG!!!
To get there, take the Metro towards the airport and stop in the previous stop (Campo de las Naciones)
