Victoria Falls had always been a dear place to me. Ever since I read the adventures of british explorers in Africa, Vic Falls (that's its popular name) were always a landmark, a mythical place to be, like Samarkand, Tombouctu...
Victoria Falls are located in the very heart of Africa, in the western extreme of Zimbabwe. You can get here by bus/train from Bulawayo, by bus from Jo'burg or Harare, or through the "Caprivi Strip" from Namibia.
Vic Falls is called "the Disneyland of Africa". Here you can practice ANY imaginable extreme sport:
- rafting
- bungie jumping
- parachute
- canoeing
- trekking
- horse riding
- helicopter rides
- etc.
- Pros:Marvellous scenery
- Cons:too crowded in high season
- In a nutshell:a real must in southern Africa

A great page on your experiences at this amazing waterfall. The canoeing above the falls looks great, but watch out for the Hippos! Nice to be able to cross the border - it was completely closed when I was there 30 years ago!
But beware that Zaambian Side doessn't usually have any water from September - December approximately!
The falls looks really impressive! hope to go there one day. Canoeing along the Zambeze sounds great!
