This is a local popular restaurant, basic decoration but tasty, though simple, dishes. Nothing out of the typical couscous, chicken, rice or spaghetti, but a good experience after all, and one of the most authentic in town.

Favorite Dish: There is a nice terrace on the roof, you have a good view of Timbuktu.

Address: This restaurant is a little far from the center

Directions: Don't trust the Lonely Planet Guide location, the one signed there is just a modern annex, but the original one is a little further. The easiest way is to ask once you are in the Maison des Artisans.

Petit Patisserie Ascot

This is definetly my favourite restaurant in Timbuktu. A bit far from the centre, it has a nice terrace and serves tasty basic plates such as couscous and Captain's Brochette. Sometimes (rarely) they have pastries too, something very unusual in Mali...
