The main reason why people come to Pamukkale is to see and enjoy the white natural pools that have been formed on the hills.
Many people come here in summer, so the best time to enjoy them is at 7 in the morning, when you can walk around alone in silence... wonderful!!
The roman ruins of Hierapolis are another main attraction up the hill.
I went to Pamukkale by train from Spain (InterRail) with my brother Ignacio.
On the way we found some other backpackers who joined us around Turkey. We had fun. In the photo, from left to right:

This brings back great memories for me, we got to Pamukkale just as the sun was rising over the pools, superb sight
