Pilgrimmage

Copacabana is a nice white village located at the shore of the Titicaca Lake. Not to be mistaken with the famous Brazil beach, named after this (though much better as a beach!)
This place has always been a holy place, back at the Inca times. Then the Spaniards just changed the Gods and a huge church was built here, and is a center of catholic pilgrimmage now.

Merchandising

Like all places with crowds, Copacabana has developed a big and interesting marketplace arounf the church. I arrived there on sunday, so the place was at its best, and you could see street stalls selling flowers, religious stuff, offerings...

If you are nor particularly religious, Copacabana has the only beach in All Bolivia, though is not exceptionally good.
And this is the place where the boats to Isla del Sol depart. Is also a goos stopover if you are doing La Paz - Cuzco by bus...
