Saigon's Town Hall (1901) could be perfectly situated in any provincial french town. It is called now "Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee". Not open to the public, you can only see it from the outside, by day, or (better, as is illuminated) by night.

There is a strong chinese presence in all the city, in spite of the efforts of the Government to keep them out. But where this presence is harder is in the western district of Cholon. There you will find traditional chinese shops (tea, medicines, clothes...), restaurants and the main market, which really deserves a visit to get lost among the hundreds of stalls selling evrything that could get out of your mind... name it, it's there!

A very nice colonial building, this Post Office reminds a train station inside. There is a huge Ho Chi Minh portrait at the end of the central hall. Here you can find many new stamps collections,a s well as independent stamp sellers at the main gate. Stamps are a nice and cheap souvenir of Vietnam, there are many of the ?Indochine? times and of the Vietnam War era. It is located near the Notre Dame Catedral.

What I found most interesting in this main church was climbing up the belfry, from where you have a very nice view of the city. Pay atention to the times, as it is usually open only very early (4-9 am) or in the afternoons (14-18). It is not really outstanding compared with european churches, but it makes a nice change after so many pagodas and temples? There are masses on sunday mornings (9:30 I think).

After asking bus prices and so, I found the Delta Tours offered by many agencies the best and cheapest way to see the Delta area. The ideal stay would be 3 days, so U have time to see the channels, sep there, see farms, visit the Cantho Market and even see the beaches in Bac Lieu? But 1 day is interesting too. They take U in a minib?s to Mito (the nearest village to Saigon), there you take a m?dium boat to cross the river to visit a farm where they offer U tea, fruits and traditional music. Then U go see how they make products from coconuts. Then lunch (included). Then ride by the channels. Then snake farm, honey farm, and back to Mito, where U take the bus back to Saigon. U leave at 8 and return at 18. 6 USD.00

This museum (once known as Museum of Chinese and American War Crimes) shows the Vietnam War from the other side. There you can find many captured US weapons, from tanks to bombs, planes... There is also an exhibition of photos about the War, a real size model of some cells of concentration camps... There are also remnants of the French Colonial era, like guillotines...

This building was the symbol of the South Vietnamese Government before reunification and was the first building taken by Vietcong forces on the 30th april 1975. I didn't finally go in, as I was tired and from the outside it seemed to me just another big unpersonal building, so I can't really tell you what's inside... But it's got some huge nice gardens all around. Entrance 15.000 d
