I came across this woooooonderful restaurant totally by chance (as best things in life!). I wanted to go visit the Oriental Hotel, but the doorkeeper didn't like my aspect (T-Shirt, shorts and so) and din't let me in. My intention was to have lunch there, it was already late (14:30) and I was hungry. So I wandered around, desperetly looking for food. Then suddenly I saw a sign saying "Thai Sea Food", and then an alley with an obscure restaurant at the bottom. I doubted, but was hungry (and angry) and though "what the hill!" and went in... What a magical place I found. A patio full of plants, bamboo sticks, water cascades, a nice terrace in the quiet shade... I sat there and a little old woman came to me with the menu. As she saw me doubting, she said: "U R new, uh? I will decide then" and she recommended me 2 delicious dishes (one of them I repeated, it was magnificient!!). Brought me bread, several beers (can't remember how many, LOL) and a delicious tasty desert. It was not cheap (about 20 USD) but I admit it was my best gastronomic experience in BKK!!

This original and charming restaurant, in the Sukhumvit (east) area, is managed by the Population & Community Development Association of Thailand. The restaurant incomes help fund population control, AIDS awareness, and a host of rural development programs. That's why such a strange name. You enter the restaurant via a tropical garden, in which there are outdoor tables. When I went it was raining, so I went in, which is nice and charm too. It was cheap (2 USD first dishes, 3 USD mains) and tasty, a great experience!

This huge place (over 1500 seats) is both a market and a restaurant where you can go to the counter, look at the live seafood and choose the one you like. Tell the chef how you want it prepared and have it ready in a while...
Favorite Dish: Lobster, prawns, King Crabs...
