It's a extreme city, lots of traffic, big avenues, charming and imposing british burocratic buildings, shanty towns... |  | A good starting point As a start point to discover south / west India, Mumbai is perfect. It has international airport, good bus/train connections... though hotel prices are incredibly high for indian standards, so don't stay too much in this vibrant but exhaustinf city, go inside India, start the trip! |
Monsoon I visited Mumbai in august, monsoon time. It was OK for me, as it was low season, and rain was never a trouble for travelling. I only had a few drops (for 30-40 minutes) every afternoon, but apart from that the weather was mild, not too hot and humid, but the sun shined some days... |  | |
