Capital of the new India since 1911 (instead of Calcutta), Delhi was born with a will to join the old & new Indias.
It might appear chaotic and stressing at a first impression. Its huge size doesn't make it handy, it has 7 cities (big quartiers) inside. The main areas are Connaught Place, the RajPath and the Old Delhi, around the Red Fort. Some interesting tips. Actually people are allowed to touch the cows - you see some people feeding them, some patting them, and some even pushing them out of the way. You just can't hurt them.
Good tips on the main attractions of Delhi, my wife and I will be visiting Delhi soon and hopefully it will be a good experience! Merry Christmas!
Well Mr. Richard, Cows are scared..but surely you can touch them. We just respect every living things, specially, if they appear to be a big animal.

Humayun's Tomb, sounds like quite a love story. Delhi, old and new, is such a city of contrasts. You have some lovely photos.
Your pic of the Taj silhoutte at sunset is mesmerizing. When I visited this year, it was 46C and it was too hot to stay till sunset. The pics of the Birla Mandir are beautiful too. Did you see the Bahaii temple too?
