Capital of the new India since 1911 (instead of Calcutta), Delhi was born with a will to join the old & new Indias.
It might appear chaotic and stressing at a first impression. Its huge size doesn't make it handy, it has 7 cities (big quartiers) inside. The main areas are Connaught Place, the RajPath and the Old Delhi, around the Red Fort. You can take taxis from one place to another, but once you are there, walk around and feel (and smell) its life, the mad traffic, the cows, the people... |
