Point Reyes Station Travel Guide: 124 reviews and 308 photos
Pt. Reyes is quite spectacular for a nature lover. One week in January, I saw Grey Whales, came back the next week and saw herds of Tule Elk!
Nn January 5th, 2004 and saw several California Grey Whales migrarting south. I also saw several herds of deer.
Then I came back the folllowing week, January 15th, and saw several herds of Tuel Elk as I hiked out to Bird Rock.
First time I visted Pt. Reyes was in May of 2003. I went on a backpacking trip with Jessicadf. We stayed overnight at Coast Camp and hiked along the scenic Coast trail.
On he trail from Brid Rock to Pierce Point Ranch we spotted several herds of Tule Elk. This picture shows how close we were able to get to them
- Pros:It's close to San Francisco
- Cons:It's close to San Francisco

Haha, did you actually counted the steps? I did not! Your "great tasting" animal is for sure a gecko. You have better not taste it as some of them are toxic!
Well, I guess your page was helpful. Raraavis suggested it as a family vacation spot in April. Any suggestions? ;)
Yup, that sure is a ton of elk! Might we expect braised elk and gecko at Chez Yubert over the VT Blowout weekend?
I'd definitely like visiting this place. Didn't realize there is so much wildlife. So what does chef Yubert serve - gecko sandwiches? :-)
Yes, the tule elk -- very cool.
Thanks to Jess! She stalled the Park Ranger while I sauteed some prawns. It was high alert [on fire danger] yesterday and no BBQing allowed. We honestly didn't know. Thank goodness we finished grilling the steaks and salmon already...
