Restaurant Name: Gloria's - The Coffee Store

At this very stylish place you can get different kinds of coffee, cookies, brownies, bagles and chiabatta.
There are just about three or four small tables inside but in the summer there are tables outside as well so you can have a really large coffee and watch the people passing by.

By the way: Espresso machines and coffee is sold at the Gloria's as well and you can also get a coffee-to-go

Favorite Dish: There is always a 'Coffee of the Day', you can get it as regular coffee or as latte. -Very yummy!!!

Restaurant Name: Absinth

The Absinth is nice small beergarden shaded by wonderful old trees close to the centre of the city.

Home-made food, nice salads and lots of vegetable dishes are served at the Absinth; in addition to the regular menue there is always a 'Today's Special'.

A very relaxing atmosphere and fair prices make the Absinth a popular spot for students and other young people.

Favorite Dish: Fried eggplant. -It's coming with Turkish bread, garlic sauce and a tremendous amount of fresh greens.

Restaurant Name: Spitz

The Spitz is one of my favourite places to hang around in the city.
The place is open all day and till late at night and never really empty. All kinds of drinks are served: Coffee and tea, juices, various kinds of beer, wine, cocktails and shots.
The Spitz also offers breakfast, a daily lunch and a full menue with small snacks, very nice salads and regular meals. Of course you can also get cake with your coffee in the afternoons.

Favorite Dish: I really like the Blaeck Maex, which is a very dark local beer. If you don't like the dark ones, try the regular Fiege, which is brewed only a block away from the Spitz.

Restaurant Name: Gallo

This place has been in Bochum for over 30 years now.
The traditional Italian food that is served at the Gallo is just excellent -creative, fresh, and very tasty! There is a large choice of pasta, pizza, fish, and meat dishes. The selection of wine and grappa is outstanding and the service very attentive.

Can you ask for more?

Favorite Dish: In addition to the regular menue there is always a choice of seasonal dishes.

I can highly recommend the four course 'meal of the month'. I tried it in October and it was just wonderful.

The Gallo is above a shop called 'Lichtbasar' you will have to go up the stairs and it's a bit tricky to find the entrance.

Restaurant Name: Profi Grill

Once upon a time there was a very talented chef in a big and expensive restaurant. He had to prepare all those fancy dishes for his guests: caviar, lobster, steaks...

But when he came home late at night he could not stop thinking of fries, sausages, cole slaw and homemade hamburgers.

Something had to be done about that. He thought and calculated and suddenly came up with a brilliant idea: "I am going to quit my job here at the restaurant and have my very own fastfood place!"

And so it was done.

Favorite Dish: Here at the Profi Grill you can get the best fastfood in town.

I always invest € 2,10 for 'Pommes Spezial' which is fries with a wonderful homemade (warm) sauce and loads of onions. Delicious!

Schnitzel is great as well, fried in a pan and not in oil.

Restaurant Name: Avli

The Avli is a Greek restaurant in the city centre but nevertheless there is a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy the tasty Mediterranean food that is served.

Favorite Dish: I have only been there once so far and had a platter of mixed starters which I shared with my friend. It was delicious and I would always order it again.
The main dish, which I took from the regular menue, was also very nice but next time I might try some of the fish that is offered on the display as a daily special. We will see.

Well, now I have been there twice and I do not really want to go again.
My purse got stolen from my coat's pocket! What a hassle!
Food was again very good but...

Have to change my rating from 'Very Satisfied' to 'Somewhat Unsatisfied'.

Wonderful breakfast and different kinds of coffee make this place very special.

Favorite Dish: I really love the Cafe Latte but they also serve beers and other drinks.
