Nestorio(n) is a village 28km far from Kastoria, at a height of 920m above sea level. Near it, every year, on the first week-end of August, the River Party, a great musical event takes place. It is a kind of a "mini Woodstock", organised by the Nestorio community. It started about 25 years ago as a cyclist meeting, but today thousands of people come by any vehicle.
There is a number of rooms in Nestorio, but you have to book one in advance, if you are lucky. Most people camp in the forest, by the river Aliakmonas and a number of singers and groups are invited to participate.
Ticket, valid for 4 days events, is (summer 2003) 25 euros (8,000drs), or 10 euros for one day. Camping is free and there are toilets and showers also free for use.
Some open-air bars and barBQs are functioning 24hours/day. |

Food is just bearable and drinks usually not chilly, but anybody survives! |

The 2003 River Party starts on Thursday, July 31 evening and ends on Sunday, August 3 midnight.
