Volos, Velestino and the villages of Pilio have a high cultural tradition. So, especially during summertime, there are many cultural events in the area and many traditional celebrations take place in different locations. Check for information about such events! Try the site of "Volos Municipality", available in English and Greek. The photo is from "Pilioritikos Gamos" (Traditional Marriage at Pilion Mountain), a feast taking place every year in Portaria village, after the 15th August, and lasting for 3 days.
