When my friend proposed to me to visit Kusatsu and explained that it was one of the best places to enjoy hot spring I did not even have an idea about what hot spring was, go figure if I could know a popular Japanese hot spring resort.
As soon as I entered this town, I felt in love with it as it is very particular with all the water vapour all around the centre of the town and the smell of sulphur.
This is also the only town where I had the chance to stay in a very typical Japanese inn, eating and drinking and sleeping on Tatami.
