There are several excursionns possible from Phuket, i would reccommend a tour of the arcipelag as it offers really great views.

This the place, not far from Kata beach where hundreds of people come to see the sunset, it's a bit crowded but it's worth a visit.

Directions: just take a tuc tuc as the trip won't be long.

The most popular beach in Phuket is patong, in my opinion it's just good for shopping or night life as the seaside is full of water motobike that makes the colour of the sea water grey. I particulary loved Kata beach just 5 minuts from Patong, but there are many other beautiful ones as Kambala beach or Sirun beach.
