Malo e' Lelei !
I spent 2 weeks on Ovaka, Va'vau, with 15 other people on a church work party. Our project was helping the locals restore their 85 year old church.

The whole time the locals took such great care of us, it was hard to leave! The food was absolutely delicious; fresh lobster, fish and octopus, suckling piglet and plenty of fruit and veges. Chilled coconuts were a great refreshment!

We spent most of the day hard at work, stripping paint, sanding walls and repainting. I spent a lot of time up in the ceiling running new wiring for lights (the power provided by a new generator our church donated). Can I say, it got pretty hot up there in the Tongan sun!

When we finished working we would run down to the beach and cool off! We spent one saturday touring around the local islands in the island boat, swimming in the warm ocean and checking out the coral.

I would love to go back some day and check out more of Tonga, as we spent our time on the one island.
