Salut!
Hi!
Hola!
Dobriy den'!
Szia !
Zdravei !
Tjaba !
Ore !
Ahalan !
Hei !
Shalom!
and, of course...
G'day !
TALKING OF CHAT ROOM... Lately, because of some change in my life, I spent less time in the Chat room. I hope anyone assume I had any problems whatsoever with the members or any moderator of the Lobby. I intend to come back, most likely as weather get colder in my northern country !
IRIS Versicolor is the floral emblem of Québec. Well, I should say i will always respect other country's flag as a sign of respect for peoples from those country... but I don't like to use flag ! Funny, since flag arguments frequently arise in my country ! But I feel flag, too often, are only argument to convince peoples to sacrifice for their country... and go to war ! So I prefer floral or bird or tree emblem !
P.S : How funny ! At the right of the nice flower, you can see a spruce... which should be the vegetal emblem since it feed so many quebecers for such a long time ! But not cute enough !
ABOUT RATING I am happy for all of you to take a look here, but have to say a bit surprise when I receive "extremely" helpful rating! Having read other pages, I believe someone have to keep some room for the excellence ! But I will be happy to receive a message from you, to try to answer as well as possible to questions about my Québec, or to just simply have fun through the Chat, the forum or answering your email! P.S. : if some links does not work or something else is obviously wrong, thanks to let me know about it !
ABOUT LANGUAGE
Like 7 millions peoples in Canada I live in french. So from time to time I can't help to use it. In english, I guess, you say : "first language". In french we say litterally : the language of our mother ( " langue maternelle"). It show how your first language may be useful to depict more precisely your feelings.
MY MOTTO is from the french poet Jacques Prévert.
OTHER UNUSUEL INTEREST : I work with woodlot owners and care about forestry and agricultural issues.
WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS :
I have just come here....what a strange community... after having read some nice tips on HTML, I still had problems... Maybe I don't catch english as much as I tought?... then I received 3 email from uttz (other Vt distinguished member) who care helping me solve some problems with my Peru Page... what an uncommon commune !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used others tips from a helpfull VT member, geoff_Wright.
WORLD'S NEWSPAPER : When I look for a foreign newspaper, I use the links of the french magazine http://www.courrierinternational.com/planetepresse/planeteP_accueil.asp a digest of papers and magazine. Don't be scared by the french text ! Click on the continent, then use the french spelling to choose the country you dream about ! You will find newspaper in all languages and scripts. Enjoy your reading !
WORLD'S MAPS.
I did not travel before 2000 but always loved maps here is a link where you can find maps from all around the world. It is from the <a href=http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/index.html target=_ > University of Texas in Austin .
