Lhasa has proven to be a real treasure for travellers for many years and it continues to be so. Right now the sun is shining in clear blue skies, the autumn leaves are glistening along with the snow capped mountains all around us and the people are incredibly friendly. It's pilgrim season here and the place is a mass of colourful dress - fantastic for photos and taking in the atmosphere.

Gday pete, you back in Lhasa? Despite the Chinese oppression I would love to visit, if you get to Guangzhou let me know( 5 best friends live there and they can show you around) cheers from the south Jz

Good advice regarding the so-called "permit" for Tibet. Nobody asks to see it on the train to Lhasa and nobody in Tibet cares if you have one or not!
