My oupa was an Afrikaaner, and my mother was born just outside of Johannesburg. After nearly 35 years, I finally got an opportunity to visit the homeland of my ancestors. What a wonderful time we had! Great times included my cousin's wedding, several days in Kruger Park, several days relaxing at a game farm, a mad-dash trip around the Cape, lots of braii and even more laughter and fun.
Thank you to my family in South Africa - you're all so wonderful! And thank you to Alex, who always seemed to find my pajamas, surprising me with freshly laundered and ironed pajama bottoms. :-)
Take a look a each of my South Africa travelogues for photos from the various parts of the journey.
