We received a "deal" on email: $139/night, based on double occupancy, mid-week. for a suite. Yeah? Okay... My company forced everyone to take vacation between Christmas and New Year 2004, so we decided to take the offer.
We were not disappointed. While yes, the place is absolutely fake, as is everything on The Strip, the Venetian was, by far, the nicest hotel in to which we walked. We didn't walk in to the Bellagio, which looked like it could be the nicest, however.
The one thing I didn't like about our stay was the smell. They use some kind of cleaner or air "freshener" that I found really offensive.
Unique Qualities: Our suite had a step-down sitting area, two televisions, a huge marble bathroom with glassed in shower and a large tub (not jacuzzi, however). The bed was canopied, in suite fax/printer/scanner and internet connection for our handy-dandy laptop. Paperwork indicated that the internet connection would cost $9.95 per day, however I had the laptop plugged in and never got charged. Good luck!
