To me, this has always been such a bizarre city. I've been there three times now. Twice on business and once for pleasure. Actually, the first time was a stop-over on a road trip from San Francisco to Prescott, AZ. We got a great deal on a suite at the big pyramid hotel... the name escapes me right now. Oh yeah -- the Luxor.
Uh oh, Las Vegas enthusiasts are going to beat me for that.
My husband (still getting used to that word!!) and I went for a quick trip to Las Vegas in December 2004. Mark had never been to Vegas and was intrigued. He grew up in South Lake Tahoe, close to gambling, and has no interest in gambling. And neither do I. So this will mainly be an exercise in people watching, enjoying a Cirque de Soleil show (I hope) and just marveling in the surreality of it all.

I shall be in Vegas for a week in October - your tips are so well written, thanks! By the way, I thought your 'good news' was really sweet ;-) - Good Luck!! Marion.
I'm heading out to LV NEXT WEEK!!! I'll be thinking fondly of you and the growing peanut :)
You didn't tell us if you won or not!
Makes me want to put on my Elvis outfit on and head for Ceasers Palace...
Vegas is a lot less of a gamble after reading your page on it! Take care, Jess. Wayne
I will have to try Pamplemousee sometime -- it sounds wonderful -- though I think not knowing the price tag ahead of time would make me nervous. A fun look at LV.
nice page, very descriptive!
I enjoyed this peek at one of my old haunts from college days! Vegas has sure changed a lot (I even saw Liberace live). Happy New Year to you and Mark!
If you're a fan of Cirque du Soleil, they now have 4(?) shows in Las Vegas. LV has come a long way!
