Go horseback riding or for a sleigh ride! In the summer, trailrides on the mountain are arranged. In the winter, you can go on sleigh rides.
However, I went to Sandpoint in the winter and wanted to go horseback riding, not sleighing. I gave a call and asked them if we could go riding and Laura, co-owner, was totally pleasant and said, 'Sure! There's too much snow up top (of the mountain) right now, so we can't go trail riding. But we've got 60 acres at the bottom of the mountain if you'd like to go out for a ride.' So while there I met up with Laura at the stables and rode Coal (pictured here) for a couple of hours. Laura's very pleasant, Coal was a dream to ride and the riding was fantastic. Riding in a snow blanketed forest was a first for me, and I'll definitely go back no matter what time of year.
