SF MUNI: Trolleys along the Embarcadero

Getting TO/AROUND: If you're traveling along the Embarcadero, the main broad boulevard that goes along the waterfront from Fisherman's Wharf to Pac Bell Park, you can take the trolley line. These were put in to place only a few years ago and have a wonderful old San Francisco feel. For one dollar, you can go the route (for adults, cheaper for kids) and can get transfers to get on to the regular bus lines to go beyond the Embarcadero. They accept bus transfers, as well, so if you got there by bus, you don't have to pay another $1 to get up or down the Embarcadero.

Getting TO/AROUND: If you're planning on staying inside the city of San Francisco, then renting a car is really unnecessary (and costly for parking). You're better off with walking, mass transit, etc.

If, however, you want to get out of the city to take a drive down the coast, across the Golden Gate Bridge, wine tasting, etc., then you'll want a car.

By Air: Cocktails after 9pm at the airport

Getting TO/AROUND: If you are flying out of SFO on United and are looking for a cocktail after 9pm, you should look for The Terrace bar. The rest of the bars seem to close at 9pm for some reason!

San Francisco truly has its share of 'local color', but I guess that's why people love it so much! Thanks for the tips, Jessica...Regards from Texas

Yup, I'm pretty sorry 'bout it too...would have wished for a different outcome. Ah well. I'm off to China again on the upcoming weekend...not exactly sure *when* I'll be back this time...
