Point Reyes Station Hotel Tips by jessicadf

Coast Camp is a relatively easy hike from the Point Reyes Hostel parking lot. By the Laguna Trail, it's 1.8 miles. By the Coast Trail, it's 3.1 miles, more or less.

The camp sites behind some cliffs, thus blocked from much of the coastal winds. A gentle upslope provides plenty of flat spots for tents, and each camp site has a picnic table with benches, a charcoal grill (no wood burning allowed) and a food box for food and other smelly items that might attract scavengers.

The site also has:
* water spigots for drinking and washing.
* Bathrooms (no electricity - bring a flashlight or headlamp)
* Dumpsters, including recycling for bottles and cans!

Here's the cozy little camp spot that Yubert and I shared. Oh, did I mention that Yubert and I had a little mini-VT meeting, back packing in Pt. Reyes? Excellent! Hoping we can have a bigger event like this sometime. Anyone interested, please do let us know!!
