Lake Powell - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

We visited Lake Powell for the first time in 2002. It was very hot, but also great to see, feel and enjoy. When we drove by the lake it look deserted, but when we got close the the Glenn Canyon dam we saw that we weren't the only one to visit.

Together with the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area it is about 1932 square miles of high desert landscape.

Lake Powell itselfs takes up about 13% of this area.

Pros and Cons

Pros:It's adesert with water in it and restaurants nearby.

I flew over it from G. Canyon & Monument Valley! It was an amazing sight from the top! Truly one of the most wonderful place on Earth!
