The heart of the Alley | A hotel hit by the May 8, 2003 tornado |
Oklahoma city is located in the heart of Tornado Alley. Just a few weeks before we would stay in OKC it was hit by two tornadoes. There was sever damage to many homes and busines property.
Because of the fact we were going to be there in a few weeks we looked all over the internet and informed if our hotel wasn't hit.
The pictures on the internet gave us an idea of the damage. But when we where there and visited the area it gave me a surreal feeling. You could really see the path of the tornado, while some house where gone others right next to the destroyed house was damaged just a little... It must be terrible to be in an area where a tornado touches down...

|  | To little time Well after being their and seen all the attractions, sights and sounds we missed we really know that OKC is a great place to stay longer as we did. We had great weather and great fun in this place..
The only thing we didn't have was time...maybe some other time...

I am impressed that Europeans visit OK City for reasons other than business. The tornadoes are over rated. I lived in Prague, Oklahoma for 8 years without a tornado coming anywhere close to me. | mrclay2000 Sun Nov 28, 2004 02:51 UTC
