New York Skyline Just to have seen it once for real..and the nice thing is you've also got the best view on then New York Skyline you can get. Just take a trip to New York from here when you get out of your boat all kinds of goods like sunglasses, watches and more are beeing sold out of bags.. But pay attention it's worth to try to get the prices down..it could save you some bucks. about Miss Liberty It was a gift from the people of France as a symbol of political freedom and Democracy. The dedication of this monument found place on October 28, 1886. The statue has been a national monument for the US since October 28, 1886. When the centennial on July 4th came close it had extensive restorations to bring her back in tip top shape. You can get there by car and take the ferry from New Jersey and / or by boat or water cab from New York City.. More maps to the island are on http://www.libertystatepark.com/ directio.htm

Famous This must be one of the most famous historical buildings in New York. We visited during our first trip to the US. Niki's niece took us over here, on the lower floors there was a lot of marble and also the only restrooms for lady tourists. We where astounded by the great views it gave us over New York and left us with some great pictures. About The Building of this Building took place during the depression. From the top floors you have a great view over New York. You could once see the twin towers at the tip of New York. Competition You also can see another historical building, the Chrysler building. The founders of both buildings (Walter Chrysler) and John Jakob Raskob (Creator of General Motors) where in competition with each other to see who could build the tallest building. Speed Construction began on March 17, 1930. Building was fast everything came prefabed to the building site which enabled them to have an average building speed of four and a half floors per week. This building is in almost every movie that is recorded in New York. We knew the building from the movies and had no idea or intentions to look for it. But we did bump into it while walking through New York City. The building was even smaller in than i thought (only 6 feet at the start). They say it's the oldest remaining skyscraper in New York and is about 285 feet (87 meters) tall. It is in use as a commercial office building.

Below the financial district at the tip of NYC you'll find Battery Park. Here you can have a good view of Miss Liberty and Ellis Island. And if you don't like the view enough you can take the ferry to the statue and Ellis island. In battery park you'll find a fort that was built between 1808 and 1811 which is named Castle Clinton. When the war ended and the army left the site it had different functions, it has been an aquarium, opera center and an immigration landing depot. In the park you can see many memorials and along the docks there are still canons to be seen. We like the park very much is a place that can take you away from the hectic city live, although when your near the fort you will be constantly spoken to by vendors which are trying to sell their goods out of a suitcase.
