Stanhope was a part of Byram Township through the 19th Century. In 1904 it was incorporated as a Borough in 1904. It became a important iron manufacturing community in the 19th century. In 1845 Lake Musconetcong was authorized to be made as a water reservoir for the iron companies. |

|  | How did we get there... We got here when we were invited a beer festival, this festival was held in Waterloo Village. We walked through this village which was located in a beautiful forest. While your walking through the village you see displays of how things were in those days. |

Easty Tue Jan 11, 2005 00:14 UTC Nicely done documentary on Waterloo Village. Some of my relatives in my grandparents generation actually lived there near the turn of the 20th Century.
