Stanhope was a part of Byram Township through the 19th Century. In 1904 it was incorporated as a Borough in 1904.
It became a important iron manufacturing community in the 19th century.
In 1845 Lake Musconetcong was authorized to be made as a water reservoir for the iron companies.

How did we get there...

We got here when we were invited a beer festival, this festival was held in Waterloo Village. We walked through this village which was located in a beautiful forest. While your walking through the village you see displays of how things were in those days.

Nicely done documentary on Waterloo Village. Some of my relatives in my grandparents generation actually lived there near the turn of the 20th Century. Waterloo does have some nice festivals as well.

Nice page, this is a wonderful place to visit. We love their Irish festival in September but the beer festival looks like a don't miss!
