We didn't really stop in Iowa, but because it became kind of a trend during this trip to take a picture of local watertowers we had to shoot this one to.

The name Iowa is an expression for 44 sleepy people that has been used by the Sioux indians. The name is used in many different US states, this one is in Louisiana about 10 minutes from Lake Charles.

Iowa is part of the Calcasieu Parish and was originale a rice farming community. The community got through the great depression in the beginning of the 1900's because in 1930 oil was found. It also was a important part of the growth in that time.

Oil is still part of the economy today.

Today

It's home to the Factory Stores of America Outlet Mall which "unfortunality" was missed by Niki ;-).
