....we visited Venice, Florida. The weather was very nice it was about 28 degrees celcius and while we sat on a bench at the beach in the sun we were thinking about home...
The cold and wet Netherlands....what a nice place not to be right then :-)
The first setllers came here after the passage of the Homestead act.
In this act 160 acres of till then federal land was given for free to each family which wanted to settle here.
