Samos, one of the larger Greek islands (476 square kilometres), situated in the Eastern Aegean Sea, close to Asia Minor, visited by MissZiggy in august 1999.
The island has a lot to offer to its visitors: a wonderful landscape, monasteries and chapels, musea, archeological sites, nice villages, reliable weather conditions and -of course- a lot of beaches.
I stayed in Pythagorion, one of the main towns, close to the airport. The philosopher Pythagoras is one of Samos' most famous all time inhabitans. You will find a statue honoring him in the Pythagorion harbour.
