    • Petit National Ice Center--This is the Olympic training center for speed skating. Perhaps that is because at one point the entire US Speed Skating team was from Wisconsin! I actually skated with Dan Jansen (Olympic gold medalist for those of you who didn't know) when I was like 12. It is open to the public, and is the best skating facility I have skated in.

    • ROOT RIVER PARKWAY--this is a 76-mile paved bike course that really lets you see southeast Wisconsin. My favorite stretch is the part that goes through Whitnall Park, which has to be one of the biggest parks I have been to...Greenfield Park is nice to--I used to ice skate and swim there as a kid.

    • HARLEY DAVIDSON ANNIVERSARY RIDE--well so the last one was the 95th in 1998--so just wait til 2003 this is going to be BIG and Milwaukee is THE PLACE TO BE for it cause Wisconsin is the birthplace of Harley Davidson--if you can't make it for the anniversary, take a tour!

    • THe Balloon Festival--it is held every spring around the end of May/early June near Baraboo, Wisconsin. We used to go every year after camping at Devil's Lake. There are hundreds of hot air balloons from all over that the sky is literally crowded with them. Amazing site and a great event to take the kids to. My father, the practicing photographer, took this picture.

     Have been to the shrine - Lambeau Field - Pack vs Steelers (just b4 Xmas either 94 or 95). Went with our then Wisconsin relatives. Yancy Thigpen dropped the ball in the end zone Pack wins!
