General Tips: SEE THE CAPITAL! A...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: SEE THE CAPITAL! A progressive, cosmopolitan city of 200,000, Madison is home to the world-class University of Wisconsin, the seat of state government, and an eclectic, electric atmosphere that energizes any visitor's stay. Madison offers both small town charm and a range of cultural and recreational opportunities usually found in much larger cities. And, with four lakes and over 200 parks, it is one of the nation's most scenic cities. A host of picturesque communities, many retaining their strong ethnic heritage, surrounds the city.

And if you are looking for shopping nite life, head to STATE STREET--the place never sleeps and is right in the middle of UW-Madison's campus.

Fondest Memory: I will always remember swimming State at UW-Madison in high school, as well as completing my first marathon (damn those hills!)

  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: ENJOY THE NATURE AND THE PARK SYSTEMS! A little history for you: Milwaukee actually used to have a socialist mayor that created extensive park systems throughout Milwaukee County for the people to enjoy. There are so many great wild life preserves and hiking trails, not to mention camp grounds, bike paths and TONS of lakes!! No matter what the season, Wisconsin is always someplace you will find something going on.

Fondest Memory: Whenever I am away, I always miss the resources available in Wisconsin--especially the park systems. I never realized how much I took it all for granted until I went away to college. There is so much readily available--tons of trails and golf courses and Lake Michigan is amazing! Plus the drivers there are so much more considerate of bikers!

  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: Having grown up in Wisconsin, I have so many memories. You defintely need to see Milwaukee and Madison, because they are great cities with so much to do. There are great recreational activities available: sailing, biking, trails, beaches--you name it. Not to mention GREAT BARS and AWESOME PEOPLE--everyone loves people from Wisconsin--I think it's b/c of the funny way we talk! :)

Fondest Memory: I miss Lake Michigan most of all--so many trails and the beach w/sand volleyball--it's like being at the ocean, minus the smell of saltwater.
