Getting TO/AROUND: By Plane Shiphol Airport is located only about 20 minutes from Amsterdam's Central Station. By Train Holland has a great train network. You can travel to Amsterdam from virtually any place in the Netherlands. High speed trains connect Amsterdam with several large European cities: Brussels, Milan, Cologne and Paris. Here you can plan your trip. By Foot or Bike The city center is relatively small, which means most sights can be easily reached by foot or bike. By Tram Amsterdam has an excellent tram system. Tickets can be purchased in the tram. It is not unusual to see people get in in the back without paying. So why not give it a try, too? :)
