"Salinas's - Lucerne" a Lucerne Travel Page by Salinas

Where I'm standing is the Seebrücke with a view of Kappellbrücke and landscape of the alps as a backdrop. From Zurich we went to Lucerne by train in the afternoon. The train ride took us 50minutes of an enjoyable trip. The beautiful view of Switzerland's picturesque landscape was endlessly breathtaking. I thought there was no sign of jet-lag having arrived from Singapore the same day at 630am :) I had my first visit to Lucerne back in October 1997 when we travelled from Milan by train for a 4 hours sightseeing and have hoped that I could make another trip here again, I'm so glad we made it.

Lucerne is situated at the end of the Lake of Lucerne, 436 meters above sea level, nestled between gentle hillsides. Lucerne and its lake are among the most popular tourist destinations in all of Europe. I personally love Lucerne; it's rich in panoramas, its narrow cobblestone streets, frescoed houses, the snow-capped alps looming in the distance, its lakes, quaint quarters with little streets ranging and changing from silence to abundant liveliness!

When you visit Lucerne, take an easygoing walk through a maze of these small streets, covered bridges, medieval centre, promenades and plazas dominated by countless historical towers, fountains and frescoed buildings and explore the shores of beautiful Lake Lucerne. You'll certainly fall in love with this quaint city, and I did!
