Just before I arrived in Ecuador the volcano just outside Qutio started erupting, throwing masses of dust miles up into the sky. Much of the dust then found its way down to ground covering every thing in a thick layer of grime.

Ecuador boasts some awesome scenery but endemic crime and corruption spoil the country and the economy is virtually on it’s knees.
