"Welcome to Giebelstadt!" a Giebelstadt Travel Page by goingplaces

Giebelstadt is one of those little towns you drive right through and miss in the blink of an eye. It's situated right on a major roadway, between Wuerzburg and Bad Mergentheim, and has the proverbial 'one stoplight.' However, one thing that makes Gieb stand out from other small German towns is the American military kaserne nearby. Despite that strong American presence, Giebelstadt still maintains it's sense of history...a history that cannot be ignored. Many newcomers to the area are told secretive stories of underground buildings, flooded bunkers, and spy plane missions. Whatever the history, I invite you to check it out on your own. I only hope I can do this great town justice on my pages here.
