Paris means many things to me...fear. Fear that I wouldn't see it like a real tourist should, that I would miss out on all the 'necessary' sights. Joy...The joy I felt when I kissed my husband at midnight on the Champs d'Elysees, surrounded by 200,000 of our closest friends. Awe...the awe I felt looking up at the Eiffel Tower...and looking down from it. Those are just a few ways Paris affected me, and I only hope I can do it justice in these few pictures and words. As for this picture, I was crossing the road, trying to get back to our bus, around 1:30am January 1st, 2002. Hope this gives you an idea of how crazy it was.
