"""""""France 30th october""""" Honestly I'm a bit disapointed by the way things are turning out . Ok, France is a beautiful country and perfect for tourism. But, as I'm a local, I'm not gonna write in a touristic purpose, but rather tell you how I feel my country daily. Since our new governement has been elected, the "right party" has the power (the President plus the National Assembly are at the right). Sometimes one says there's no difference between the "right" party and the "left one". But since we changed the governement, many things have changed and still are changing. I've never seen as much policemen in the streets and in some areas. My friends with "north african or african" origins has never been that much controled everywhere. People seem to feel very concerned by security and even obsessed by it. Maybe part of the international situation can explain it but not entirely. I think it's part of media's fault too. What's happening? Privatisation are increasing and even our fair medical system is threatened. politicals are also enforcing the laws against illegal immigrants and poor people. Well, I don't feel it real COoool to live here these days on the political ground. But hopefully it's still allowed to meet freely friends, and it's not forbidden yet to build the world again just during one night at least. lol
""""SOME FRESH NEWS FROM FRANCE"""""""""
Today is 1st of May and there were the biggest demonstration I've ever seen in Paris, more than 500000 people (officially between 400000 and 900000), shouting, moving, singing, talking... to protest against Le Pen the racist, xenophobe, anti democratic, fascist... who received an exceptional support last 21st of April during the vote. Next Sunday we'll have to chose voting between you-know-who and Mr Chirac for the presidency of France...
Of course Chirac will be elected but a huge movement of protests has emerged as well as an important debate about our country. More later Nadia |
