If you go out at night in Paris by metro or train, check when the stations close; the metro generally closes around 2 a.m and opens again about 6.30 am... and if you miss the last train...you're not allowed to sleep in the metro ;)

Pickpockets! take care and especially in the touristic areas; also don't trust any fake policeman who would like to check your identity papers (this legal) and also check your money and ask you why you are in FRance and so on (this is NOT LEGAL at all). A friend of mine has been robbed that way, he thought it was normal!!
