| | Parc Cachamay Still confused we enter the sandy runway of Canaima. Our guide is an authentic Indian complete with loin-cloth and nose piercing. With a life-jacket we jump in the canoe for a trip on the Parc Cachamay. It’s a beautiful lake with spectacular waterfalls and landscapes. At one point it’s possible to walk behind the fall (I thought it was the El Sapo fall). Bernal, our guide, showed us his amazing skill of finding animals. First the Tarantula in our canoe, he spoke his famous words “not afraid, just little spider”, the thing was a big as my hand and as hairy as Magnum PI. Then he found a little frog or toad, bright green and yellow. A beautiful animal but also not to handle without care. After this trip we stayed at his house (just a roof, no walls of course) and we had a tasteful meal and I still don’t wanna now what we had for dinner that day. |
