My first proper trip to Tampere was in July 2001 when me and some of my friends went to Tammerfest (the annual city festival) for the weekend. I had been to the Särkänniemi amusement park many times, but nowhere else there. I loved the place! I definitely am going to visit there more often. I was staying in a friend's apartment near Särkänniemi with a few friends of mine. We walked to the centre of Tampere every night (and back), and we stayed there for three days.
On Friday 13th we went to Ratina park to see a gooood Finnish band called CMX , and they played well, as usual. On Saturday we went to see Flaming Sideburns (a Finnish band playing rock'n roll) in a small club. WOW! Can't wait to go there again! |
