Great place to visit if you like shopping scuba diving or snorkelling. The waters are pristine and warm.
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt and was most pleased. If you are into collecting antiques the silver "Khanjars" are a must, for that matter Oman is truly noted for it's quality silver and frankenscence. Also a must are the souks, a buyers haven, however never pay retail - half the fun is haggling.
The country is very clean and the Sultan has done a great job in keeping it that way - they even have a law that states if you car is dirty, you are subject to a fine!! The Omani's are very friendly and kind people, the rest of the Gulf countries can learn a lesson from them. |
