<font color=blue><B>First and utmost: I'd have never experienced the Tyrolean area the way I did if I hadn't met my VT friend Lothar. I would probably visit Innsbruck some day, but just do what I usually do: hang around the city (which is by the way lovely and full of spirit), see a museum or two, sniff around the bookstores and test every pub. This is what I love doing, alright. But sometimes, with a little encouragement, I can just experience so much more!
Being shown around by Lothar was definitely a great experience. May I just repeat what I already wrote on my Austria page: you'll never get a better guide to Tirol. He knows everything - how tall some mountain is, when a certain tunnel was built, what's peculiar about this and that village... But most important of all, he knows all the good sights and not-to-be-missed places. So what you'll read on this page is but humble words of his grateful disciple.
<U>A small but important remark:</U> As Tirol stretches well beyond Austria, we did not cover only this country but also some of Italy (Southern Tirol) and Switzerland (which is not Tirol at all but included anyway since we literally didn't go farther than 500 m beyond the Swiss border).
<font size=+1>A sad sad fact: as I was spinning back the film in my camera, it snapped and half of the shots were ruined. Therefore I cannot show you any decent photos of Innsbruck and Hall. I'm still furious when I think about it!!!
