I grew up near Syracuse, so I can both sing the praises and complain about the "hub" of Central New York! I'll do more of both later:)

The picture was taken outside the I.M. Pei designed Everson Art Museum in downtown Syracuse.

I just learned that the 80 year old Hotel Syracuse has closed its doors, probably forever. This led me to want to do some new tips on Syracuse using historical images. I hope you enjoy!

Fayetteville is about 11 miles east of Syracuse on state route 5. Since I was a child it has grown from 2,000 to 20,000 in population.

    Lovely Syracuse page, Sal! So sad to hear about the Hotel Syracuse. I hate it when historical places are shut down. ~I’m a SUCKER for popovers! And your photos are beautiful! ~We, too, had the Erie Canal running thru Ohio thru Cincy to the Ohio River.
